01 Our Fundamental Privacy Architecture
FixlyTools operates on a strict Zero-Knowledge, Client-Side First philosophy. Unlike conventional web utility services that require you to transmit files over the public internet to backend cloud servers (e.g., AWS EC2, S3 buckets, Google Cloud Storage, or private render nodes), FixlyTools downloads pure client-side code directly into your web browser.
Once loaded, our web applications execute entirely on your device's local CPU and RAM. All document parsing, binary manipulation, audio synthesis, camera recordings, and cryptographic operations occur locally. At no point during file processing is any data packet, payload, or file fragment sent back to FixlyTools or any affiliated server.
| Data Category | Traditional Web Utilities | FixlyTools Platform |
|---|---|---|
| Uploaded Files (PDF, Images, CSV) | Transferred to remote server disks & cloud queues | 100% In-Memory (0 bytes uploaded) |
| User Identity & Account Creation | Mandatory signups, passwords, email verification | No Account Needed • Anonymous |
| File Retention & Auto-Deletion Delay | Cached on remote disk for 1h to 30 days | Immediate Garbage Collection on Tab Close |
| Tracking Cookies & Behavioral Fingerprints | Third-party ad networks, social trackers | Zero Tracking Cookies |
02 Data We Do NOT Collect
Because of our client-side design, we categorically do not collect, process, store, sell, or monetize any of the following categories of information:
- Your Uploaded Files & Assets: PDF files, scanned contracts, JPEG/PNG/WebP photos, CSV spreadsheets, source code, text diffs, and audio/video recordings.
- Personally Identifiable Information (PII): Full legal names, home or business addresses, social security numbers, passport numbers, tax IDs, or phone numbers.
- Financial or Billing Data: Credit card numbers, bank account routing details, PayPal credentials, or transaction histories. (Our Invoice Builder generates documents strictly in your local browser storage).
- Biometric & Audio-Visual Recordings: Microphone recordings and screen capture streams captured via our Recorder tool are held exclusively in temporary HTML5 MediaStream memory blobs on your device.
03 Minimal Local Browser Storage (LocalStorage)
FixlyTools uses your browser's native localStorage API solely to enhance your user experience locally on your own machine. We use localStorage exclusively for:
- Theme Preference: Storing the value
"dark"or"light"under the keyfixlytools_themeso your selected interface appearance persists across page reloads. - Offline Invoice Drafts (Optional): If you use the Instant Invoice Builder, your drafted invoice line items and business details are saved to your browser's local sandbox so you do not lose progress if your tab accidentally closes.
localStorage never leaves your device. You can clear this data at any moment by clearing your browser's cache or typing localStorage.clear() in the developer console.
04 Cookies & Web Tracking Policy
FixlyTools does not use tracking cookies, targeting cookies, third-party advertising cookies, or fingerprinting scripts. We do not integrate surveillance scripts from Meta Pixel, Google Remarketing, TikTok, or data broker networks.
Because we do not store tracking cookies on your computer or device, no annoying cookie consent banners or opt-in paywalls are displayed or required under the EU ePrivacy Directive (Directive 2002/58/EC).
05 Third-Party CDNs & Static Infrastructure
To provide lightning-fast content delivery worldwide, FixlyTools static HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and font assets are served via secure Content Delivery Networks (CDNs), specifically Google Fonts and Cloudflare CDN.
When your browser fetches static assets, the hosting CDN may record standard web server request headers (such as your public IP address, browser User-Agent, and requested URL) purely for security mitigation (DDoS defense) and technical routing. These transit logs are governed by Cloudflare and Google's respective enterprise privacy policies.
06 General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Compliance
For users located within the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom (UK GDPR), and Switzerland, FixlyTools complies with all applicable tenets of Regulation (EU) 2016/679. Under the GDPR, you have the following fundamental rights:
- The Right to Access & Portability (Art. 15, 20): Because we store zero personal data on any server, there is no centralized database record to inspect or transfer. Your data remains on your computer.
- The Right to Rectification & Erasure (Art. 16, 17): "The Right to be Forgotten" is built into the core physics of our software. The moment you close your browser tab, all processed file bytes in your RAM are instantly garbage-collected and destroyed.
- The Right to Restrict & Object to Processing (Art. 18, 21): You have complete operational control over your data. Since execution is triggered only by your explicit manual actions (such as clicking "Merge" or "Compress"), you decide when and how your machine executes code.
07 California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / CPRA) Disclosures
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.100 et seq.) and the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (CPRA), California residents are entitled to specific disclosures regarding personal information:
- Sale or Sharing of Personal Information: FixlyTools has never sold, rented, or shared personal information with third parties for commercial monetary consideration or cross-context behavioral advertising, and will never do so in the future.
- Non-Discrimination: We do not discriminate against any user who exercises their statutory rights under California privacy legislation. All 10 tools remain 100% free, equal, and unrestricted for everyone.
- "Do Not Track" (DNT) & Global Privacy Control (GPC): FixlyTools inherently respects DNT and GPC browser signals by virtue of our zero-tracking architecture.
08 Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)
FixlyTools is a general-audience technical and productivity utility platform. We do not knowingly solicit, collect, or retain personal data from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). Because our platform operates without user accounts or server storage, parents and educators can utilize our educational converters and noise synthesizers with complete peace of mind.
09 In-Memory Security Sandboxing
Our tools are designed to take full advantage of the browser's native security model (Same-Origin Policy, Web Worker isolation, and TypedArray memory bounds checking). When you load a document into FixlyTools:
- The file is read via the browser's native
FileReaderorBlobinterface directly into local device RAM. - Processing scripts manipulate memory buffers without opening outgoing HTTP/WebSocket connections.
- The finished result is packaged into a temporary
blob:Object URL for immediate download to your computer's local Downloads folder. - The memory reference is subsequently deallocated via
URL.revokeObjectURL().
